CHIPP Plenary Meeting in Appenberg

August 24-25, 2009

Hotel Appenberg
CH-3532 Zäziwil

Venue: Hotel Appenberg

The 2009 CHIPP Annual Plenary Meeting will take place on 24 and 25 August 2009 at the Seminarhotel Appenberg near Konolfingen (Canton Berne). The meeting will start at 10 a.m. on the first day and end at about 4.30 p.m. on the second.

The Appenberg “campus” consists of a number of old but nicely renovated houses from the region which have been transformed in such a way that meetings, seminars and cultural events can easily be accommodated. The seminar rooms are equipped with all the technology needed nowadays (including W-LAN [Swisscom fee]). All hotel rooms have individual bathrooms and telephones, but no TV. The restaurant serves very nice food.

Access:

To reach Appenberg, one can take

  • the S2 from Berne to Zäziwil (runs every half hour and takes some 25 min.),
  • the RegioExpress from Berne to Konolfingen (runs every hour and takes 15 min.),
  • the train from Burgdorf to Konolfingen (2 connections per hour taking some 30 min.).

The Appenberg itself is not connected directly to the public transport system. However, the Hotel provides courtesy car or bus transport from and to the two nearest railway stations mentioned above (Zäziwil and Konolfingen).
Those who have registered and have indicated the use of public transport will be contacted in July for travelling details needed to organise the bus shuttle service.

For people travelling by car, a car park is available (for road instructions see the Hotel’s website).
